UNICEF END CHILD MARRIAGE (Dead Idea)
Role: Art Director, alongside Copywriter Dean Shein, Wunderman Thompson
Client, Campaign
2023
OVERVIEW
The global number of child brides is now estimated at 650 million, including girls under age 18 who have already married, and adult women who married in childhood. In order to meet the Sustainable Development Goals target of eliminating this harmful practice by 2030, global progress would need to be 12 times faster than the rate observed over the past decade.

PROJECT DETAIL
Idea: The Wedding Invitation You Never Wanted.
A child bride will publicly invite policy makers to her wedding.
On International Day of the Girl Child, policy makers will receive personally addressed handwritten wedding invitations, from an 11 year old girl named Maryam. The invitations will be displayed publicly across newspapers, bus shelters and OOH billboards. More information will be found via a QR code.

PROJECT DETAIL
Idea: Weddings ‘R’ Us
We’ll partner with Toys ‘R’ Us to create the first kids store that sells wedding gifts.
On International Day of the Girl Child, every Toys ‘R’ Us store will display a curation of products within a new “Weddings ‘R’ Us” section. When people buy these toys, a small percentage will be donated to UNICEF to end child marriage. These toys will also be available online under the category “Wedding Gifts”.
